Donald W. McNutt
President / Chief Executive Officer
Don has been in the convenience store industry since
1971. He
began his career by leasing his first location at the age of 19.
After successfully owning and operating multiple convenience store
locations and creating a profitable movie rental business Don
accepted the position of General Manager for Midwest Petroleum
in 1988. He progressed with Midwest Petroleum to become
President in 1993. Midwest Petroleum has shown strong and
consistent profitability since 1993. Don is a past President
of the Missouri Petroleum Marketers and
Convenience Store Association. The Governor of Missouri
appointed him to the Board of Trustees for the Missouri
Petroleum Storage Tank and Insurance Fund. Don is also a
member of the Petroleum Marketer Association of America,
Illinois Petroleum Marketer Association, and the Saint Louis
Oilmen’s Club.
Walter Vance
Chief Operating Officer
Walter has 26 years of extensive experience in financial
operations, strategic planning, and evaluating and negotiating
mergers and acquisitions. He graduated from VPI&SU with an
accounting degree in 1978 and obtained his MBA from Campbell
University in 1993. His professional experience includes working
as a Controller from 1987 to 1991, overseeing all financial
functions for a chain of hardware stores in Roanoke, Virginia.
In 1991, Walter moved to become the Controller of a larger
growth oriented company called Royster-Clark. Royster Clark, at
that time was an $80 million regional sales company. During the
next 11 years, the company grew to $950 million in sales and
Walter’s position grew from Controller to Chief Financial
Officer to Managing Director. Walter joined Midwest Petroleum
Company in July 2003 as Vice President of Administration and
Chief Financial Officer.
Mike
McNutt
Vice President
Mike McNutt brings 23 years of management experience
to Midwest Petroleum. After serving time in the United States
Marine Corps, Mike worked as a Plant Manager in Crestwood, MO,
supervising over 100 employees. In 1989 Mike made the transition
from Manufacturing to Petroleum taking a position at Midwest.
Initially Mike was hired to run the Maintenance Department along
with Dispatch. This position gradually grew to also incorporate
and oversee all environmental and government regulations. This
has involved maintaining that Midwest is in compliance with
various environmental laws including the protection of ground
water, soil and air quality, along with the registration of
underground storage tanks owned by Midwest Petroleum. Mike has
served time on the board of the Saint Louis Oilmen’s club, and
was promoted to Vice President in 2004.
